Today, is the first time I experienced the service in Customs Malaysia. (Where is customs Malaysia? It is located just opposite the LCCT. A very big building of Pos Malaysia).
The story started with: I recieved a christmas gift from a friend in US (a set of ladies bag coming with scarf, keychain and a small wristlet. Total of 4 items actually). But according to the officer in custom, eventhough it has been declared as gift. As long as it is duty taxable goods, no matter it is gift or something you purchased, all need to be taxed!
The lady officer seemed to be very "kind" and "nice" to me. She told me: well, I hanya tax atas you punya beg dan saya tak mau check la apa itu beg punya material, I hanya tax you 10% lah! (I only tax on the bag and not the remaining items and I don't want to check what kind of material is the bag made of. I only tax you 10% of the total of that invoice). This is because according to her, any bags which their material are other than kain (cloth), leather, it will be taxed at least 25% and above.
After that I found out she taxed on the total $ of the 4 items + shipping. So I asked her shouldn't she only tax on the total $ of the 4 items? Here's another male officer came and laugh. The "nice" lady explained to me (in a very rude manner): well, if you want to count with me, let me count for you back. First of all, all your items are equal to USD200, then the insurance covered will be USD200 also, shipment is USD40. So total is USD240 which equals to MYR1628.So if I tax 10% on that amount, you need to pay MYR162 instead of MYR88 (Total of USD200 for the 4 items and USD40 for the shipment).
Actually I've asked around a lot of my friend after that. They said it shouldn't be that way. I trusted them as they always import goods from Taiwan due to their business nature. The taxable amount is actually excluded the shipment. Besides that, my other friends who received gift from their friends from UK (5 pieces of bag in a big box) never being taxed as well. Somemore is a very branded bag started with "L". Other friends who made online shopping never face any problem when receiving their goods also.
I'm very sad and disappointed with the makan duit culture in Malaysia. They simply tax. She threaten me that if I didn't want her to tax only 10%, and want to know how exactly they tax me, I need to proceed to another counter and get a declaration form, which will cost me another MYR18 and I need to wait for at least 30 minutes to get it. And after I got the form, they will tax exactly according to the declaration form (all my items will be taxed individually and tax more than 10%). This is crazy! How are they going to tax as all the 4 items are in one price! Wow... that means she is just being very nice to me and only tax a little on me? So I need to thank her? If it is really that way, isn't it means that she is not working according to the rules and regulations? Who's fault? Or I really 'untung' here?
Anyway, I just wanted to let everyone know about this "lovely lady". If you found out that she is one of your relative, neighbor, friend, sibling, wife or mum, shame on you!!!! Oh ya, her name is Zuraidah(猪来的啊).
P/S: Sorry for the bad quality of my camera phone's photo. And you can see, I snap so many pictures of her and she never realized it, that means she didn't really serving me at all.
Hmm... it's been quite some time i didn't go for movie. I remember the gap between the last movie I watched was Mummy 3 (together with my parents) and yesterday went for Madagascar 2 with my colleague. XD That means is about 3 months plus. Really quite some time already.
The next movie I'm planning to watch will be Bolt (3D) on this coming Sunday and Quarantine on next Tuesday. Yeah!
Lastly, it's the movie as my blog title: 犬と私の10の約束. I must watch this but not in cinema cause this is a sad movie (read from the synopsis). I'm sure I cry like a waterfall since I'm already so touched just by watching the trailer.
I believe it would be a nice movie though. Love the storyline, love the doggie, love the theme song, love japan! XD
Wow, just bath my dog. And I feel so guilty now... Especially when I see her white and smoothy fur appeared in front of me again... She hasn't been bath by her beloved owner (me) for about 2 months...
1 hour ago, she look so grey... 1/2 hour ago, the grey bubble was flowing towards the drain hole... 15 minutes ago, she looks like a brand new pet just adopted by me... XD
This is actually my friend's birthday present. But I found that it's cute so at the end I decided to keep it for myself. ^.^
I bought it from a shop (something like Hot Market) in Genting last month while my friend was gambling in the casino.
This little thing is MYR7.90. It will be moving around.
This clip didn't capture well as the monkey moving too fast.
Actually this is the 2nd gift that I decided to keep it for myself after I bought it for someone else's occasion. The first one is a wedding gift to my best friend who is getting marry next month, a wedding nohohon. But since it has been 'extinct' and rarely to be found, there for I decided to keep it as one of my nohohon zoku's collection. ~.^
I've been received this from a friend of mine (I believe is him since he is a frequent toy shopper from Play-Asia).
Really clueless when I first open the box and unwrap the thing inside so I quick quick login to my Play-Asia account and check out what it is.
Actually this is a toy for those who likes to spend their time in popping up the bubble wrapper. And this little thingy cost US$ 6.49 (~23.68 MYR). To be more exact, it is for those people who is very 无聊 also. Lol. Got instruction inside somemore but too bad I can't read as it is all in Japanese. ^.^
Last night when I was entering the bath room, I didn't notice the entrance was very wet. As the results, I fell down and sitting at the entrance. XD And my beautiful leg got a cross (+) scar. Zoom in...
Besides that, I don't know what happened to my beautiful legs lately. It suddenly got a bruise again on my left thigh when I woke up in the morning on last Thursday. From what I heard from people, this is pinch by the 'good buddy' (a.k.a ghost). I don't know how true is this but I got this kind of bruises quite often. Mostly are on thighs and arms.
Lastly, mosquitoes bite when I went to overnight at my friend's house last Saturday night. I hate mosquitoes bite as it takes time to recover and damn so itchy. And I can't wear any shorts or mini skirt until all the marks are gone. T_T
Right beautiful leg... Left beautiful leg... Right beautiful leg again... nearby the knee
Yea hoo~~ Maybe I really spent a lot lately, both the credit cards I'm using - Maybank (2 years) and HSBC (1/2 year) has been increase my credit limit automatically.
Don't know whether this is a good news or bad news since I'm already owing them so much yet they increased my credit limit to encourage me to spend more. Hmm... But after think twice, actually it is good news to me as I can spend more... XD Again, I've snap down the notification from the bank with my lousy camera phone and showing it here:
Maybank notification - received last week
HSBS notification - received this morning So I'm actually receiving good news for last and this Thursday. Haha!
Woo hoo~~ Finally I'm posting this. These photos have been taken by my lousy camera phone since 3rd Nov 2008, while I was heading back to my home sweet home from work. And this is the first time I saw the Q System being introduced since 28th Oct 2008.
Let's put aside the "punctuality" issue of KTM, these are the very common scenario you can see while you are waiting for the train. No matter you are at ulu station or even the most high class station - KL Sentral.
This aunty's son is lying on the bench for people to sit and wait for the train. There's 4 seats in a row and the quantity of the bench is insufficient already. There's a lot of people are actually standing there but I didn't snap it down. These people can sit 1 seat while placing their other belonging to the seat next to them. (Actually this is very common in Malaysia and ONLY myself cannot tahan about it). These 2 lovely ladies' main responsibility is to guide the passengers to follow the newly introduced Q System before they boarded into the train. But since the train is always late, so they just sit down and chit chat. While the other passengers who are not inside the photos are standing there to wait for the train... The 3 photos below is the Q System! Passengers should queue beside the green line before boarding. But when I first looking at the green line, blue line and yellow arrow, I really don't understand what is going on. To put it as simple, it is just the same as what people always do while waiting for Putra LRT. Wait at the 2 sides before boarding, and wait for the passengers to be loaded out from the train before you board. But somehow I still think this is confusing as passengers need to be aware of when to wait at the green line and when to wait at the blue line. :S
Well, I don't know whether this Q System will be succeed as on that day itself (3rd Nov 2008), I still saw people rushing into the train without following the guide from the announcement as well as from the 2 lovely ladies who were sitting there chit chat. Besides that, people who can just lie on the bench, put their belonging beside them, do you think they will follow it? They don't even know the purpose of the seats being prepared and we are expecting them to follow the Q System... zzz...
